Don't ask why, there isn't an answer this time...

I've let the blog sit for a while. A lot has happened and I just didn't want to type about it, lest it become more like reality and not like a nightmare we might all wake up from. I know I've written and posted photos of Sarah's best friend Lexi on this blog before. They are like sisters. And as thier parents, all four of us became like family as well. We vacationed together, lunched every week, spoke on the phone and spent countless days/nights together. Like last Friday. We planned to go into the city with the kids to see the tree and celebrate Brian's 48th birthday. Instead, Brian passed away that morning. On his birthday. Leaving his wife and 3 year old daughter behind. We don't know why. We probably never will. But we do know that they are now more a part of this family than ever. Anything they need, we will be there. In Brian's memory. Always.

It's hard to even type about this. And maybe I just won't. Maybe we'll wake up soon. Because these things should not happen. Ever.

such a cruel thing to happen to such a beautiful young family. My heart breaks for them...I'm so sorry Alexis. I so wish this is all just a nightmare for you all, that this is all not happening for real. *hugs*

Oh, Alexis. I am sooo sad for the family and for you. You will all be in my prayers for peace. Please let me know if I can do anything. My best friend's husband of 10 years passed away suddenly at 37 leaving 2 kids and his wife behind, and even though it was 3 years ago, the pain is still so real. Let me know if you need anything.

Alexis I'm so sorry for you and your friends who have become like family. Such a rare find to have such close friends these days and equally devastating when such news comes. These things are a struggle to understand. Why is always a big answer that sometimes will never be answered. Please know that I'll be praying for you and the family and if you need anything please do not hesitate to contact me.

Alexis I don't know what to say other than please please let us any of us know if there is anything that we can do. When my mother passed away we had people from everywhere that my mother knew calling offering to do anything from buy us groceries to helping with the house to offering their own homes if we wanted to get away for a while. My heart goes out to them so dearly and they will forever be in my thoughts.

Alexis, I'm so sorry for your loss. Although we know tomorrow is no guarantee, it's still so unfair when someone so young dies. Hang in there!
